Are stag pranks safe in Krakow? Consent, risk and professional organisation explained

The short answer: Are stag pranks in Krakow safe?
A professionally organised stag prank can be run in controlled conditions, but no responsible organiser should describe any physical activity as completely risk-free. Safety comes from choosing a suitable prank, sharing relevant information, using experienced people and knowing when to change or stop the plan.
Since 2016, Xclusive Event has coordinated around 45 individual pranks or multi-prank programmes in an average year. We have not recorded an accident during those bookings, and a Dog Chase session has never required an emergency stop. That record provides useful context, but every new booking still needs to be assessed on its own circumstances. You can view the current range of stag pranks in Krakow.
What professional organisation looks like
The best pranks feel unpredictable to the groom because the planning remains out of sight. Behind the scenes, the organiser and activity team should already know the scenario, location, timing, participant requirements and their own responsibilities. Every safe booking involves:
- Agreed scenario – the detailed scenario is confirmed in advance
- Operational roles – responsibilities are clearly divided between the organiser, guide and specialist provider
- Participant screening – checks cover the groom’s health, mobility, likely reactions and personal boundaries
- Vetted professionals – professional performers, handlers or instructors deliver the parts that require specialist experience
- Professional equipment – suitable protective equipment is used where the activity requires it
- Stop procedure – the team knows who can change, shorten or stop the activity
- Conditions on the day – the plan takes account of timing, alcohol, weather and conditions at the location
The exact checks should match the prank. A comic airport surprise such as the Dwarf Stag Arrest Airport Prank does not require the same physical controls as Dog Chase. It still requires a best man who knows the groom, an agreed scenario and performers who stay within the agreed boundaries.
Keeping the surprise without ignoring consent
The best man usually wants to protect the surprise, so the groom may not know the exact time or format in advance. The best man still needs to decide whether the prank suits the person at the centre of it. He should tell us about anything that could make the experience inappropriate or unsafe.
Before booking an intense prank, consider how the groom normally reacts to physical exertion, dogs, sudden stress, unfamiliar people, enclosed transport, a blindfold or brief separation from the group. If the best man is unsure, we can suggest a less intense and more openly comic option. The aim is to choose the right prank for the groom rather than the most extreme one on the list.
Health and safety information required before booking
Xclusive Event uses a short Health and Safety Check for selected activities. For Dog Chase, the guide gives the questionnaire directly to the participant during the transfer to the venue. It is presented as a standard safety check required before the activity, so the exact nature of the prank remains undisclosed and the element of surprise is preserved.
For other pranks, the best man controls the booking information because he knows the groom and remains responsible for telling us about relevant concerns.
We do not ask for full medical records. We need only the information required to decide whether the planned activity is suitable or whether the format should be changed. Relevant factors may include:
- Heart or cardiovascular conditions and serious blood pressure problems
- A history of fainting, blackouts, seizures, severe dizziness or balance problems
- Asthma or another respiratory condition affected by physical exertion
- Back, neck, spine, joint or mobility problems
- A recent injury, fracture, operation or serious illness
- A condition that may be aggravated by sudden movement, exertion or stress
- Severe anxiety, panic attacks or a significant phobia (e.g. cynophobia)
- Medication that may affect balance, coordination, reaction time or consciousness
The person making the booking must also notify us of any changes in circumstances prior to the activity. A new injury or illness may affect a decision made several weeks earlier.
Roles and responsibilities during a Krakow stag prank
Xclusive Event (The coordinator)
We coordinate the overall experience. This includes receiving the booking, collecting the information needed for the chosen prank, selecting the provider, arranging the time and location, managing the logistics and keeping the group informed. We also connect the best man with the guide and the people who will deliver the activity.
The local guide (The ground coordinator)
The guide links the group, Xclusive Event and the activity team. They check the practical details, coordinate the timing and remain in contact with the performers or provider. During Dog Chase, the guide and best man are present while the handler controls the activity.
Performers and specialist providers
Actors and performers follow the scenario agreed in advance. They should not add unplanned actions simply to make the prank more intense. When an activity requires specialist skills, the relevant provider or instructor takes control of that part of the experience.
The Dog Chase handler
During Dog Chase, the trained dog remains under the handler’s direct control. The handler knows the dog, gives the commands, watches the participant and manages each stage of the session. Xclusive Event confirms the procedure with the handler before the activity.

How the Stag Dog Chase Prank is managed safely
The Stag Dog Chase Prank is the activity for which the most detailed physical safety procedure is required. The participant wears a heavy professional bite suit and helmet. The dog is trained for this type of controlled work and engages the protective suit under the handler’s supervision.
A session consists of several short chase or bite-work sequences, typically capped at seven or eight. This is an upper limit rather than a target. The participant usually tires first because moving in the protective suit requires considerable effort. The handler watches the participant throughout and adjusts the session to what is happening on the ground.
The dog’s workload is also controlled. The dog takes part in no more than two or three Dog Chase sessions in one day. For the trained dog, the exercise is familiar and enjoyable, while the limited daily schedule leaves time for rest between sessions.
When a Dog Chase session can be stopped
The handler runs the activity and may stop it if continuing would no longer be appropriate. The best man is present and can also ask for the session to end at any time. This matters because he knows the groom and may notice a change in his condition or reaction that requires attention.
The session may be shortened or stopped if the participant feels unwell, cannot follow instructions, becomes too tired or if another safety concern appears. Participation may also be refused if the person is significantly intoxicated, under the influence of recreational drugs or otherwise unable to take part safely.
Xclusive Event has never had to stop a Dog Chase session in an emergency. The stop procedure still remains part of the organisation because a good safety process must be ready before it is needed.
Alcohol, drugs and event timing
Some stag pranks take place during an evening programme, after dinner or as part of a pub crawl. The timing must still suit the type of activity. Physical exertion, a blindfold, transport or close contact with performers all require the participant to understand what is happening and follow instructions.
For Dog Chase, the participant’s condition is checked before the activity begins. If alcohol or another substance makes safe participation doubtful, the activity team can refuse to start.
Insurance and financial protection
Xclusive Event holds business liability insurance issued by TUiR WARTA S.A., with a limit of indemnity of PLN 2,000,000. The insured activities include tour operator, travel agency and tour guide services. The policy also contains extensions for damage connected with event organisation that is not subject to compulsory insurance and for damage caused by subcontractors, subject to the policy terms, exclusions and sublimits.
The specialist company that delivers Dog Chase also holds its own liability insurance. Insurance provides financial protection for events covered by the relevant policy. It does not replace participant checks, professional equipment, supervision or the decision to stop an activity when conditions are unsuitable.
Business liability insurance is also different from the financial protection connected with Xclusive Event’s status as a registered Polish tour operator. More information about the company and its financial protection is available on our About Us page.
Safety considerations for different Krakow stag pranks
Different pranks carry different risk profiles. Here is how we handle safety across our most popular scenarios:
Dog Chase prank
The participant reviews the Health and Safety Check, wears professional protective equipment and follows the handler’s instructions. The best man remains present and can ask for the session to stop. Health, mobility, intoxication and the participant’s ability to understand instructions are all relevant.
Fake arrest and stag kidnapping
These pranks rely on a convincing scenario and may create more stress than an openly comic surprise such as the Dwarf Stag Arrest prank. The best man should consider the groom’s response to sudden contact, unfamiliar performers, a blindfold, transport or temporary separation from the group. The performers follow the scenario agreed with the organiser and should not extend it with unplanned actions.
Dwarf Stag Arrest prank
The Dwarf Stag Arrest prank features a professional actor with dwarfism. It is generally more openly comic and can be fitted into different parts of the weekend, including an airport arrival, a bar visit or another pre-arranged activity. The best man should still agree the format, including any use of handcuffs, challenges, photographs and the public setting. The humour should come from the scenario and the groom’s reaction, while the professional performer should be treated with respect.
What to check before booking a stag prank in Krakow
A credible organiser should be able to explain who is responsible, what information is required and how the experience fits the rest of the weekend. Before choosing a prank, check:
- The full company details, legal operator status and current customer reviews
- What is included in the booking
- Who will deliver and supervise the activity
- What the best man must disclose before the event
- Any health, mobility or intoxication restrictions
- The protective equipment used for a physical activity
- Who may shorten or stop the experience
- What happens if the weather, location or participant’s condition changes
- The relevant insurance and cancellation arrangements
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Can the groom get hurt during a Dog Chase prank?
The trained dog works under the handler’s direct control while the participant wears a professional bite suit and helmet. The handler limits each sequence and can shorten or stop the session. No physical activity is entirely risk-free, and fatigue is expected because the suit is heavy.
What happens if the groom is drunk before the prank?
For Dog Chase, the participant’s condition is checked before the session. The handler or activity team can refuse to start if intoxication makes safe participation doubtful. Other pranks may also be altered or cancelled if the participant cannot understand or follow the agreed scenario safely.
